Calling All Medium Writers
Hey everyone,
So this week, I made a breakthrough on Medium. I’ll dive into it more next week, but the big idea is I’ve found another way to elevate my writing, and I want to share it with you in detail in the coming weeks.
Before I do that, I have a question for you. Over a year ago, I started this newsletter to extend my publication on Medium called Better Content. The pub’s purpose is to give other creators content creation advice. And while I think there are some great posts, it just didn’t let me grow as fast as I would’ve liked.
I stopped posting there and pursued the big publications. I’m talking about The Startup, Mind Cafe, Better Marketing, and The Ascent (R.I.P.). Now I publish with them every week. It’s almost automatic at this point, and there are reasons for that (reasons I will write about and share with you next week).
The next step is fine-tuning my ideas into stories that genuinely go viral. My story for you this week came pretty close to doing just that…Okay, back to that question I had.
What questions do you still have about publishing on Medium?
The prominent writers have their books, courses, and coaching programs. They’ve created massive businesses around teaching others how to be better writers.
I’ve paid for their work too, and I have learned more from their free content, if I'm honest.
I want to do better. As I start round 2 of edits for my freelancing book, I’m coming up with all sorts of ideas for my own Medium Course, inspired by Daniel Vassallo’s $50 video course, which I found to be more valuable
So what do you want to know? How can you get your first 100 followers? Why should you write on Medium? How in the world do you deal with those big publication editors?
Ask your questions in the comments, and I’ll do my best to answer them now, and I may even include it in a segment of my course ;)
Until then, comment away, and be on the lookout for my semi-viral story from last week.
Peace out,
Ryan
