Howdy folks,
You may have noticed I didn’t send any articles last week. Or, maybe you didn’t. Either way, hello, I’m writing to you from Denver.
Yes, I moved from Los Angeles to Denver. With people leaving California in swarms, coming to an up-and-coming city seems like the taboo thing to do. Frankly, I couldn’t give a crap about it. I feel like I belong here, and that’s what matters.
I’m excited, happy, and a little nervous (if I’m honest). The first couple of days were brutal with all the traveling and apartment setup. But, I’m starting to feel settled in, and I’m ready to dive back into my “routine.”
Change is a prerequisite for growth
I wanted to move out of my parents’ house just a few months after I graduated college. I felt like a nerd, honestly. But I learned to love it. As years went by, I fell into a comfort zone, and it was hard to dig myself out.
We all know the comfort zone. We know we have potential, but there’s always something holding us back. I’m not saying my parents’ house was necessarily keeping me from growing, but it definitely wasn’t helping.
Sometimes we have to do what’s uncomfortable to make it to the next step in life. There’s no problem with wanting more for yourself. It’s a part of life and growing up. I keep reminding myself that just about everyone goes through this phase.
So, to wrap things up, I’m ready to dig into my work and create for you guys. It’s one of the things that helps me feel normal, I guess.
Talk soon,
Ryan
