A.I. Writing Bots Replaced Me
"Leveraging A.I. for yourself won’t fast-track you to joining the Matrix"
When I was an angsty schoolboy, essay writing put chills down my spine.
First off, I did everything wrong:
I procrastinated
When I wrote, I wasn’t focused
When I was stuck, I powered through
After writing 250+ articles online, many of which were longer than those essays, I’ve learned:
Work expands with the time given to complete it
Flow states are a superpower
I know to empty my mind before using it
But one thing hasn’t changed since 2017—with every essay, email, text, Tweet, or blog I’ve written; words still hang off the tip of my tongue.
It’s like my brain knows what it wants to say, but the words never quite formulate.
This is more than needing another word for “good” and using a thesaurus.
I’m talking about transferring a concept in my head and putting it into words people can actually understand.
If you’re a writer, send emails at work, or breathe air, you know what I’m talking about.
This feeling of the brain-to-text disconnect is one of the most frustrating phenomenons we’ve dealt with for all of human history, but a solution is here — A.I. baby.
Let’s get this straight — robots don’t write for me.
ChatGPT could generate an article, but it would read like cold steel tastes.
But I still think A.I. is one of the most important tools writers can use in 2023.
Writers can use A.I. to speed up their workflow, ultimately giving them more time to work out, walk the dog, cook vegan dinners, and spend time with friends/family.
A.I. is a tool just like Twitter is a tool to make sales or Medium is a tool to get newsletter subscribers.
I came up with 3 Mind Blowing ChatGPT Hacks for Small Writers and 7 Ways to Use ChatGPT (Ethically) in Your Day-to-Day (←This article has 32K views btw).
Leveraging A.I. for yourself won’t fast-track you to joining the Matrix.
But it will make sending emails a heck of a lot easier.
